Countertop Claim Basics
This course consists of two modules that will introduce you to the function, terms, style, materials, damageability, reparability, measurement, and estimating of residential countertops.
The first countertop module will provide you with descriptions of countertop functions, terms, and style, as well as the common materials of countertops installed in residential buildings. The second countertop module covers damageability, reparability, and estimating. It will provide you with information about the different types of countertop damages, repair options, and key specifications as well as how to estimate the replacement of countertops installed in residential buildings. It is important that you understand these concepts and procedures so you can properly assess a loss to residential countertops and be able to competently discuss damageability and reparability with customers and those who would repair the damages.

- Identify countertop styles
- Describe common countertop materials
- Describe common damages and repair options
- State the key specifications for countertop replacement
- Estimate the replacement cost of a countertop based on its measurements, material cost, and additional features
